The effect of 15-minutes exercise therapy on the attention and behavior of boys with Attention-Deficit/ hyperactivity Disorder(ADHD)

Abstract
Boys diagnosed with ADHD by specialist pediatricians and stabilized on medication were assigned to a 72-session exercise therapy group(n=2) or control group(n=2). Boys were assessed pre-post-intervention on the Conners' Teacher Rating Scale-Revised : CTRS-R; Goyette & Ulrich, 1978), the Test of Variables of Attention(TOVA ; Greenberg, Cormna & Kindsch,1997), and the Motion Logger Actigraph.. The purpose of this study was to develop safe and effective exercise program for children and adolescents with ADHD. For the purpose, students aged 9 and above(2 subject) executed the 15-minutes exercise program for 24 weeks. The result were as follows; 1. 15-minutes Exercise Program demonstrated a hybrid intervention model for children and adolescents with ADHD by the gymnastics based on oriental medicine and Western medicine. 2. There was a significant difference in parameters of stress between pre and post exercise 3. There was a significant difference in self-behavioral inhibition between pre and post exercise 4. There was a significant difference in parameters of attitudes between pre and post exercise.
